FFF IN INDONESIA

The Future Forests Fund seeks to acquire the rights to sustainably manage a  forest concession located on the Indonesia on the island of Borneo. The concession will be one which has been logged and the remaining forests  vary from highly degraded to primary forests. The lowland Dipterocarp forests of the area form an extremely bio-diverse ecosystem in Borneo and are amongst the most threatened forests in the world due to the environmental fragility and the value of their timber.

FFF intends to implement a comprehensive set of activities to reforest  with mixed native species the most highly degraded areas of the concession, to enrich and restore previously logged areas and to protect and preserve  any remaining primary forests.

Location: Province of Central Borneo
